Good things often grow close by...
Alpine and regional plants are of central importance for SOAVO natural cosmetics.
Wild gorges, heights and valleys, gentle hills, rugged rocks, wide meadows - the habitats of the Alps are characterized by diversity, as is their flora. The Alpine region is dominated by dynamic processes, be it harsh winters or raging foehn storms. A challenge for all living things, whether human, animal or plant. Special robustness and resilience, even vitality, is required. No wonder that alpine plants have always been attributed special powers.
"We have the best resources in the alpine environment in Austria, we use them and in doing so we also promote awareness that we cannot value local quality highly enough. When you are surrounded by such natural treasures, you have to make use of them and give them the importance they deserve!"
Erwin Krall, SOAVO founder
ALPINE PLANTS. POWER PLANTS.
Selected alpine plants and regional medicinal plants are the heart of SOAVO recipes. A true power essence of the Alps is the Swiss stone pine.
PINE
(Pinus sylvestris)
The Swiss stone pine is the powerful, indestructible "Queen of the Alps", an evergreen, extremely frost-hardy conifer that grows on high rocks in the Austrian mountains and can live for hundreds of years. It is robust, extremely resilient and is also called Swiss stone pine or Swiss pine. Its storm-torn shape often shows gnarled and bizarrely twisted forms. The cones and seeds are used to make invigorating schnapps and liqueurs. Its spicy essential oil smells like a walk in the forest and provides strength, energy and clarity.
A mountain
You, mountain, are good. On your mats rests
The eye gladly and gladly upon thy forest;
You are not tall and stately in stature,
Yet your gentle charm gives courage to the dreamer.
The sun lies on your broad chest
The long day; you give it back to us;
And over your kind happiness
The heart releases the last evil desire.”
